Wow. Not that it matters. Not that anyone is reading this. But I'm back...sorta. Where have I been? "Adulting" I guess is what you kids call it. Working for the man is what they used to say back in my day. Either way, it was a long, prosperous, and enlightening journey into the corporate world. Since then... Added a son to #teamsmith Moved to and from Cedar Rapids Worked at a lot of hospitals and a couple of hotels Bought a new car And motorcycle Mom moved here...then away At the end of the day, I'm back to enjoying the blessings God has given me. And the next step is getting back into my first true love...guns. Wait, I mean motorcycl

Whoa! This thing still works?! Well, I guess I'd better start adding some new new artwork...

So how do professional artists do it?!  I've been working on a big project (big for me, at least) that has yielded some of my strongest sequential pages to date...but I can't show it because it hasn't been published.  So how am I supposed to build my portfolio and get new jobs if my best work is G-13 classified?!  I guess the one saving grace is that my Hardcase pages have gotten stronger as a result of what I've learned with this other project.  Still, it's frustrating.  Someday, though...

I came across your profile as a freelance artist on Freelanced.com and I'd definitely like to work with you on a graphic novel/ comic that I have planned in the future! I'll keep you posted on whenever I'm ready to do the planned comic book that I have mind!

hey dude, you still alive? havent seen hide nor hair in an eon!
Whoa--I'm alive and well...in Cedar Rapids! I got a management job and moved the family this summer. My art career is on pause:( How goes it in the 402 with you, kid?
oi, you dont even want to know, its been rough, but trying to work on getting a little more serious with the art, since im still having troubles with the shoulder so i cant do as much in the equine world. fredds been doing pretty good, and started an 'advance' art jam with a friend where its a tinge more serious to help mentor people who want to actively progress, and help them get their art out there, its pretty cool(theres even 3 giant printers to help make prints with!).

sorry your art career is on pause, but are you all atleast happy/comfy out there, and with your job?? you still get to atleast sketch here and there right?
sorry to hear about the troubles you're having. bummer. glad to hear the gang is taking it to the next level, though. i don't get to sketch as much as i'd like but i am working on a story that i've always wanted to publish so we'll see where that leads. the plan is to work on it in my spare time between work and the fam. i'll keep you updated.

meanwhile, if you haven't checked out my "big' work, check out www.raymondhardcase.com.  i did the first 5 issues before being promoted to my current job. hopefully my next work turns out better, though.
